Take a Hike

It was probably around two years ago that I went on my very first hike. I knew there was a trail nearby. So on a Sunday morning, I drove out to Raven's Run and started on my own little adventure. I had never been hiking before. I hadn't eaten anything that morning. I didn't bring water with me. I didn't tell anyone where I was going. I got lost. I was the worst hiker ever. Ten miles and several beautiful pictures later, I arrived back at my car, exhausted and completely in love. After that day, I began researching hiking. I learned about what you should wear, what you should bring with you, that you should always tell someone where you are going, and where all of the best places to go hiking were. You would think the next few sentences would be about how I launched into hiking with fervor. Alas, it was only a few weeks ago that I jumped back into this thing that I genuinely enjoy doing. My June Challenge

A few years ago I decided that I wanted to take a break from the things that were keeping me from living more fully. For a month I did not check my social media accounts or post any form of updates. This technology cleanse became an annual part of my life. For one month a year, I step away from social media, I delete all of the apps off of my phone that aren't essential, and I take a break from Netflix and Hulu. It is always one of my favorite "resets" and reminds me that life did exist before everyone knew about it. This year I am taking things to the next level. June is month two of my social media and digital apps cleanse. In addition to this, I created a list of all of the things I WON'T be doing and all of the things I WILL be doing instead. What I will NOT be doing: Engaging in social media Watching TV shows Spending money on non-essentials  Playing on phone apps Eating out What I WILL be doing instead: Engaging in self-care Reading books Find
